The other day I posted that out of curiousity I was trying to find out how old the tires on my old truck might be. I know they are ancient. They are all Rayon and the cords that are showing in a couple are cotton. The odd sized one (6.00-20) has worn through all of the cords many years back so there's no telling on it. Someone wanted some pictures as a reference so I took some. There is one rear that I am certain was WW 2 surplus. The duals aren't on it - those tires are even worse and would never hold air! Don't worry - I don't drive her more than a mile from home on these old tires!
I put descriptions on the pics but they didn't take. The first one is the smaller front tire - a Kelly Springfield. It is actually stamped Springfield Kelly on the side. I assume that's the same company. The second one is the other steer tire - a Goodrich in pretty good shape considering. The third one is a rear. I can't recall the maker but the "belting" showing is all cotton. The last one is the other rear and I think military. It has Special Service stamped on the side and some sort of logo. I think it's a crest with USA in it. It it was dark and I couldn't quite tell. It's a miracle the old girl has made it with that missing chunk on the tread of that rear tire!

The farm and the Allis were sold and I have spent a lifetime working on farms throughout the country. I promised myself that one day I would own an Allis. That time event
