: How old does a tractor have to be to call it: 1)"Collectible" or 2) "Antique"?? Help me out folks, I have a 6-pack riding on the concensus answers you post. I hope you don't mind paying out that six-pack. I really doubt that you're going to find one answer to this question. In the antique business, things have to be at least 100 years old to carry the title of antique. This presents a problem for technological items that have not existed that long. For cars, it sits at 25 years. Most other things it sits at 50 years, with 'classic' meaning over 25 years. The term 'collectible' is used by sellers to give the impression that things are worth more than they actually are. In the tractor world, antique means pre-WWII, and classic means pre-1960. There were some important innovations that made it to production machines in 1960-62, so that's why there is a dividing line at 1960. However, the idea of a collectable tractor would be used to signify a post-1960 machine that is becoming rarer. Personally, I use the 50 and 25 year marks and move the year up for every year that passes. Now it sits at 1948 and 1973. Have fun!
