UD, I use an 26 gallon ATV sprayer mounted in my carry all behind my 8n. I also use the boom less sprayer which uses just one nozzle...great for doing trails. Spray pattern is about 12 to 14 feet. Figure 10 gallons of water and one quart of round up per acre set sprayer to 30 to 35 psi and run 5 miles an hour. I use round up with a surfactant if available, let weeds sprout and give them a good drink, let stand for a week or two then run your disc and plant. If using conventional crops (corn, beans, oats etc.)use round up ready seed and spray them again when needed. I put two plots of corn, two of oats and one with winter wheat and then turnips in the fall. I tried forage beans a couple of times but they just ate them down so fast there was nothing left in the fall. This year was different then most, the acorn crop was enormous, kept them out of the open till late in the season.
