If it's cut away that much you would be best to find another block. If it's decked remember the sleeve lip needs recut in the block area too. Was the head hardware re-torqued when hot per the Perkins manual? If not it's sure to blow again. Later engines used bolts, but I prefer the studs like the early engines used. I also use the 1/2 NF tall nuts from Lawson as they use more threads than the original nuts do. An engine from the MF 540 combine will fit also, I have one from a combine I scrapped. Been keeping it for my S90 puller as a spare but so far have not needed it yet.
