Bryce, the thing you better look at as other have stated is the DOT thing. You get caught, crossing state line, hauling for hire, without the proper insurance as a for hire carrier and it's going to cost you far more than you are going to make with the added possibility or everything being impounded and a towing bill. You need to do your homework on this! On another note, as a former adjuster, the "no insurance provide our own" isn't going to stand up in court! You will be liable for any loss! Plus limits of liability may change. So you need to know that the deal is on that. An example is here there is a limit of liability for a personally owned vehicle. There is no limit of liability for a commercial vehicle. So if you would happen to get in a wreck you could be on the hook for far more than your personal vehicle insurance is going to cover. So these things really need to be looked at. You may find that you would just be better off just driving to see her without messing around trying to make a buck. What's more important? Her or a few bucks?
I know you don't want to talk about this part of it but you are a man with man sized responsibilities.
