I'm not the "how to desulphur" guy but CCA are CCA and parallel circuits divide power robbing resistances in old batteries and cabling.
I had a JD 4230 with 2 6v batteries wired in series to provide 12v with one on one side of the tractor and the other on the other.
I replaced them with 2 12v batteries and wired them in parallel (++,--) with new 00 gauge rather than 0 gage cabling, with the hot and cold of the near side battery tied directly across the starter body and solenoid input stud with short cables.
I bought sealed, 12v 950CCA size 31 with ⅜" studs, OTR truck batteries. The truck stop bought them by the pallet so they got a super price and passed it on and had the cable material and made the new cables for me.
