I have to give Mike Rowe and Norm Abrams credit for working to get more young people interested in the building trades. For the last thirty years anyone considering those trades soon found out they would be competing with low cost imported skilled labor.
There is someone is recruiting and hiring every illegal immigrant because it is profitable to skirt the law. As long as we just wink at those employers we will always have an illegal immigration problem. IMHO if we just started enforcing heavy fines for employing an illegal immigrant, our immigration problems and our low minimum wage problems will both disappear quickly. We wouldn't have to spend billions of dollars on a wall and it would add a little money to the treasury to boot.
