If you don't have vacuum, the heater defaults to defrost.
The abs valve causes a soft pedal. All it does is open a bypass to take pressure out of the lines.
If the puck on the driver's fender goes bad, or doesn't get vacuum, it will turn the brake and abs lights on.
Anything can cause the lights to activate. Someone had a sticking caliper, once they found and replaced it, the lights went out.
If the hose has good vacuum at the booster, change the booster and master. Lay out some fine grit sandpaper and smooth the top of the reservoirs before install of a remain if you want the lid to seal.
Oh, use the e-brake regularly. It keeps the drums adjusted.
