The past 30 years tge govt seems interested in allowing stupid people to be out and about with no consequences to them; but the smarter people are supposed to suffer all sorts of regulations and restrictions to accommodate the stupid people out and about.
I believe we need a different attitude and set of rules to deal with smart and stupid people, but that is certainly difficult to do; and especially difficult to change direction on.
Stupid people will use a gun, a backhoe, a car, a phone, a bow and arrow, a skate board, a (fill in the blank) to cause themselves and others a problem. It does no good to ban individual items as we can't shelter people from themselves in this way. They simply find another (fill in the blank) item to repeated hurt themselves and others.
We need to get at the root of the problem, which is the stupid people themselves, not the tool they happen to be holding at the time.
Yes, that is more difficult to do; but it is the only sane solution to the problems.
