Yes they do. Our assessor was a class 4,that's as high as you can go. He last audit,she got an A+. I don't know if she thought she had the township over a barrel by quitting now or what. She said she'd come back for a 30% raise. The supervisor got right on the stick and got somebody to step right in for three months and get the roll done. The job has been posted and this guy said he'd put in his resume for the job permanently. We'll see how he works out.
I'd say on average,we lower 30-40% of those that are protested. Each parcel is different,and each person's reason to protest is different. You have to look at each one individually. We've even had some come in who wanted theirs raised. They were trying to sell the place and wanted a higher value on it.
