There a lot of factors to consider as to the moisture being trapped.
The most important would be the condition of the container. If the roof leaked, or it was sitting on the ground where it could be flooded, then once the moisture was inside, it likely would be trapped and begin condensing, dripping, rusting, molding, everything moisture normally does.
But if the container was in good condition, especially if it was insulated, still able to seal, up out of the dirt, it should be about as good as you could get for storage. One of the best things about a good container is it is rodent proof.
We have one at the company deer property. It has been a great investment, looking to get another. No moisture problems, it is locked well enough the local druggies have so far given up getting into it, no more rat chewed wiring!
