Loren, I wouldn't want anyone to lose sleep over my post, so here is the answer to how all three things can be true at the same time. I concluded there has to be something wrong with plates in deep cycle marine batteries. Then I did some research and this is what I found.
Major modes of failure of deep-cycle batteries are loss of the active material due to shedding of the plates, and corrosion of the internal grid that supports active material.
I knew deep cycle plates are thicker, but I didn't know the plates were prone to failure by shedding. Did anyone??
I will never buy another marine battery for my dump trailer. My lawn mower batteries last longer than marine batteries. I'll use two old car batteries in my dump trailer. Done with marine batteries. Hope you get your rest.
