Bob in SD, I was threading pipe with the hand threader at a place I worked several years ago.
I had just finished threading, the threader was dripping cutting oil, so I leaned it across the full trash can at the end of the work bench to drain in the trash.
Left it there for about 5 minutes, came back, it was gone, trash emptied.
Realized what happened, went asking all the likely suspects as to who emptied the trash and where did they put the threader. Of course this meant bringing each to the scene, explaining what I was asking, all afraid they were in trouble, so got the universal (insert heavy Spanish accent) "Me doonnn knoww" response.
Within 10 minutes I decided to go dumpster diving...
