Madison, Minn. Lutefisk capital, USA. Statue of a big old cod fish on Hwy 75 on south edge of town. I understand most lutefisk is made from Cod but not necessarily. Every year they have a contest in town. One guy has held the crown for all but one year when he was sick and could not keep it down. You are looking at over four pounds to catch up with him. I never had the nerve to try it. Mother was Norwegian but she was considerate enough to never make the stuff.
