I was in a wreck the first weekend of October 2015. Lady ran stop sign and pulled out in front of me. Had a 1999 Dodge 1 ton with the diesel and only 110,000 on the clock. I had the back loaded with firewood so I had it towed to my house so I could unload the wood. figured it had to be empty to fix the bed. Her insurance adjuster came and looked at it. His estimated price of vehicle was 12,500 for replacement. His estimate to repair was 7,600 so they determined they would fix it. They asked if I needed a rental and I told them no.(would have been fixed a lot sooner if said yes) They had it hauled to body shop for repair. They had estimated it with some of the parts out of salvage yards but when the body shop went to order them they were not available. So it took longer than I liked for the repair but the shop that did it did an excellent repair. When at the body shop they found a lot of little things that the adjuster missed. I told the claims representative that I still needed to get another cord of firewood and she said to go rent a pickup to get my wood. I told her that no rental place is going to rent me a pickup to go to the forest and get firewood. She would have paid for the rental no problem but I hated to take a rental to get wood so she sent me a check for a rental and I could just buy the firewood. All said and done the final bill was 12,100 to the body shop and 300 to me. Glad it was her insurance or it could have been a very different outcome.
