Ah, so many of today's problems could be fixed if we could just turn back the clock to 1950. Of course we'd have a good chance of death or paralysis by polio, and if one was unlucky enough to be the wrong skin color there was the ever-present danger of being lynched. Unfortunately, time only moves in one direction, and we have to deal with reality of today. We don't get to re-experience the past as we wish it was. (The nice thing about nostalgia is it can be selective and only present what we want to remember about the past.)
The reality of the Sandy Hook incident is that a mentally ill person obtained firearms and used them to perform dastardly acts. Yes, there were many factors leading up to this, but had Adam Lanza not been able to access his mother's guns, it's very unlikely the incident would happened.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
