An auction would be the quickest and cleanest way to get through it.
I've been on some real small lots for an auction, hard to believe there isn't room for one, buses and running to a parking lot or field is pretty common.......
An online auction would work, they are really taking over 'live' auctions any more. They are kinda like your silent auction, but not silent.... The auction co line tries the items, and lists them on their auction web site, and people can bid on the items for a week or whatever. Typically not much happens until the last day, and then the items sell out at closing time. The auctioneers seem to take a pretty good cut from either the seller or the buyers, but it gets the deal done and allows everyone to bid and discover a good price for each item. A salvage guy might put in a low $200 bid on everything and end up buying some items, on the other hand that dismantled tractor that happens to have the ultra rare weight box in the pic you didn't realize was rare will bring $3000 instead of so much a lb...... It averages out. This is sort of the purple wave option, but there might be many local auction companies that would do a better or more local job of it.
