It is probably good to replace it before it fails, but 3 years is not time for it to fail unless it is defective. Most will last 5 to 7 years or even longer. After 7 years I was advised by my Dodge dealer to replace the battery in my 07 pickup. I asked "how much?". The answer was way over what I knew a good battery could be bought for. I had noticed it cranking over a little slower than normal so I went to by local Interstate dealer and got a good replacement. I wouldn't replace yours with out a test or other reason. and I would get a few quotes first, especially before I bought one from a car dealer.
