: I just saw a tractor that has swept me off my : feet. I'd bypassed looking at them closely because of the ugly square-block grill design. : It's a 1650 Oliver. Had a Schwartz loader on it, original tires that looked new, decals from the : factory with a fine patina of age. Then I started the gas engine, and ran the loader. : What a solid tractor! Someone please tell me something bad about this tractor so I can get my : mind off it as it belongs to another who won't : let her go. Bob Dad has a 1600 that we use on the farm for feeding hay. It's old, ugly and leaks a lot, but is a good runner. Starts every time. The thing we've had trouble with is the power steering pump. The old one went out, and we couldn't find a replacement anywhere. Wound up getting one off of some kind of combine that was *almost* a perfect fit. Had some fun getting the lines plumbed in, as the ports were not quite in the same spot as the original. Had to strap down the tiltable steering column to prevent it from hitting one of the fittings on the pump.
