Thanks for the replies. Finding a salvage yard to buy it would certainly be the easiest way out for me. I am working on this tractor as a favor to a good friend who is the widow of another good friend and co-worker of mine. He was working on it at the time he passed. After looking at the tractor, it only seemed like a task of getting it running and putting it back together. So out of the goodness of my heart I was going to do that for her. Then the real fun began.
I have informed her of the most recent finding with a long email earlier today, and asked her just how sentimental this particular tractor is to her. Waiting to hear back on that. I found out that I can get a complete differential shipped here for $710. The rest of the parts I believe I need are available and add up to around $250. So, basically $1,000 for what is known to be needed...
It will all come down to how badly she really wants to have THIS particular tractor for sentimental reasons.
