Interesting thread. I ask a lot of questions here. Really need the input to run the farm end of things as I was not raised on a farm and not trained as a mechanic. I Google a lot of things, but if everyone did that then this would be exclusively a social forum and I think we need to keep the tractor/ag questions coming...even if they get repetitive.
I will sometimes ask a question when I have already done a lot of research and come up with a preliminary answer. I like to hear the broadest range of opinions and will sift thru the responses here to come up with a final answer. Sometimes I have found the preliminary answer was not the best answer. I try not to debate my respondents. I do not always agree with what I am told. People have different opinions and standards. A good example would be the grain bin questions I asked last month. MANY people thought I should go a different direction but I can tell you, the facts suggested they were wrong. But I don't debate it. I appreciate the input.
Rarely, I will look for someone to tell me what I want to hear. This rarely works out. :)
Ultimately, I guess you decide whether you want to weigh in on a topic or no. Always, though, you take your chances that the person will disregard your input entirely.
