I assume since you were shutting down due to storm you disconnected from power. If this is the case, it is likely you pulled power before the disk was fully down, and prompted this (just an educated guess). I would just allow the disk check to complete, and most likely you are fine. It is unlikely you have any malware or virus. Many years ago I used to work in TV repair (showing my age now), and I had a customer that kept bringing in his tv with lightening damage. It was nearly the same issue each time, and we had a lot of storms coming through that year in the spring. I kept asking if he indeed was disconnecting his tv during storms, and he kept insisting that he was. I finally specifically asked, are you disconnecting both Antenna, AND power, to which he responded "No, I only thought I needed to disconnect the antenna". I suggested he pull the plug from power as well, and he was not back for more of my services. Each time the tv had a fuse, and diode blown (obviously spikes from power, and lucky he did not get more damage, but I suspect it was just spikes and not full blown lightening strikes).

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
