Few years ago we had a heavy spring rain. Created a 15 acre pond in middle of one of my farms. All the cornstalks floated to perimeter of pond causing a 20 ft. wide one ft. deep "berm" of stalks. After the water went out and dried up I went in with field cult. to spread out stalks. Thought I did a pretty good job mixing them in but apparently not as beans did not grow in that 20 ft. And to top it off after the replants were up about 2" we got another rain and drown out about 5 acres. I gave up on it after that. Friend told me 9 times out of 10 it does not pay to replant drowned out as they will just drown out again. But I continue to do it as there is always that one time.
