The spacers are aluminum. A shop in Nevada made them for me last summer when I had the Deere 5525 FWA and was looking to widen it out. I had them put the steel studs in instead of just tapping holes due to the fact that I could be changing wheels rather frequently and was concerned about stripping the threads. I was further concerned about the use of hex socket cap screws, but they assured me that they had made a lot of spacers for the 3000-6000 series Deere and have had no problems. I plan on keeping a close eye on them...
