I assume you did use assy lube when you put the engine together so you dont need any pressure stuff before starting. Now is this a restoring project or just making an old tractor run. They were 6v pos gnd with a generator and cut-out for chargine system and then what did you do for wiring the system. Those engines had a sender on the lower outlet if you wanted a temp guage. The guage mounted on the gov housing. If you have an owners manual for that tractor there was a wiring dia showing how to wire it.
