An open shed like that is fine, it is way way better than outside. I have a couple of small shed with small equipment , chainsaws, lawn mowers, garden tractors, etc. and this is better than the open shed. I think the temperature changes are slowed and you never get the condensation on the equipment that you see on the open shed stuff once in a while. However the open shed is so much better than out in the weather that I wouldn't worry for equipment that is used now and then, it is fine. For long term storage constant temps are the way to go, if you can manage it, so you don't get condensation.
