I think from what other stuff I read on here before if the cab mounts go bad the cab shifts and lets the shifter linkage bind up. But if they keep grinding them into gear or if they keep popping out of gear it can then further tear up things inside. Try posting at the JD forum. timS and others, spend more of his free time there but is usually pretty busy. He works full time on these tractors fixing this type of stuff. He has posted his direct email before not too long ago you can search his posts.
