Yes, in fact the correct police would probably call these trees Trembling Aspen. And it makes fine firewood. I know people in other parts of the country talk it down as garbage wood, but it has heated homes here satisfactorily since settlement began. The dead wood can be a little light but if cut green, split and left to cure it makes as good firewood as any I could wish for. Most of what they cut here is water killed trees from the flooded areas. Go out on the ice in winter and cut the trees down.
