I see where my post about this yesterday couldn't post for some reason, I'll try again.
I just found out that even into the 80's, asbestos fibers were still being used in the manufacture of gypsum wallboard and/or the mud mixtures used for filling and taping, etc, at least up here in Canada and probably in the US as well. Some call it Sheet Rock, Gyproc, Wallboard, etc. So my whole house has it (built in the early 70's) probably and any changes I made up until the time when they stopped using it. My friend is getting some reno work done by a contractor and now he has to jump through some hoops during any tearing apart that is done.
I know that in some parts of the US some years back, there were lots of issues with Asian wallboard that was creating havoc of some kind with plumbing and electrical components, that was something else I believe.
Here's the real clincher though ....... Canada knows that asbestos is a dangerous carcinogen and nothing manufactured here can contain it anymore BUT they still mine it and sell it to other countries all over the planet.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
