Sweetfeet, here are your pictures of the 54 I bought at my uncle's sale. I ended up with two of his trucks - the '54 he always had and the '35 that grandpa had and then he got from him in 1964. It's been in the family since the late 30's. I put a pic of the 35 on last just for you! I'm not sure what I am going to do with the paint on it. It's fairly well past the point of preservation as the repaint on it was done with a brush and the whole truck has a nice "Velcro" feel to it.
Glennster, some of these guys said that you recommended a great wax/cleaner product to preserve the paint on the '54. The hood and fender tops won't take any rubbing compound, but the rest of the truck will look nice if I do. What liquid to I use from there to seal it and make it shine? What about the bed? Do I use compound on all of the metal and then linseed oil the wood? It's all evenly oxidized and would like to preserve it how it is. It won't ever sit out and will only have play use - a load or two of wheat at the end of harvest or something each year.
