You don't indicate if it is a 2 or 3 brush generator. If 3 brush, it will work fine with the generator "F" terminal grounded. This simply hard-wires it in high charge. You say you wired "The "Bat" from the generator to the ammerter." If this means, you wired the generator "A" terminal directly to the ammeter, yuor sparking is because there is a complete circuit from the battery to ground via the generator. That would be normal behavior too. If you meant regulator "A" terminal to the ammeter, then the regulator (or cut-out) is stuck with hthe contacts shut. In that case, a new regulator will fix it.
