I had a maple that was 4.5 ft at the base with a split in the middle. I hired a local tree guy to take it down, because some limbs were over the house and some over the utility wires going down the road. I expected the guy to come with his crane but he brought just his bucket truck. Pretty soon the limbs were just raining down, and thy all fell where he wanted them to. Two hours and he was gone.
