Deere is VERY blatant about their desire to have dealers consolidate. They push hard for it and don't take no for an answer. I know for a fact that CNH is not as pushy about it. I think for the most part, dealer consolidation is a decision made by dealer owners. CNH may offer incentives to consolidate, such as better pricing on iron, but don't, to my knowledge, say consolidate or close. Deere would also offer incentives such as better pricing on iron, but they also have no problem saying you have to consolidate or close.
