Hate to tell you but Tenneco already owned Case so it wasn't really Case by then. Tenneco bought controlling interest in in Case around 1972. Case didn't buy anything, Tenneco did. In 84 they bought select parts of the IH Ag division and merged it with the Case name.
For those wondering Ford had about a 10% stake in Cummins for several years but no where near a controlling interest.
The IH truck division was never up for offers as far as anyone is willing to admit.
Now what I would have found amusing would have been if JD had acquired both Case and IH!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
