my Dad dikd not care for his management leadership style ,ultimately blamed McArthur for the careless way his amphibious tank battalion was constantly put in dangerous positions,that guy did not mind getting men killed,, just save the equipment , he can always get more soldiers ,douglas thought the marines could berun thru meat grinders and never gavethe recognition , always biched about the navy and airplanes not doing their job to the supernatural fullest . ,,Dad Was Army , But he went in when the marines landed while douglas was safe in his dugout ,,. and yes , he heard the comnplaints from the other soldiers, ,,,.. to those that said Mc-arthur walked on water ,,. most soldiers thart served under him knew that he was literally standing on unused abandoned equipment and dead filipino and american soldiers , that he neglected to command effectively ,,.in short TRUMAN DID what Rossevelt should a done in 1937 ,,. there were far better Generals that would had utilized available equipment , resources , supplies and most of all able populance and soldiers and defended the phillipines in early 42 ,, insread of sitrrting in a cave fretting about what to do next , ,,..
