My plow was a MF 4 bottom and it has the settings for both with or without using the sencing and I ran it both ways with my 5000 Ford, If on draft setting just had to lower the quadrant setting some to get full depth. On my plow it had the mast and for using the top link it had a set of hookup points about 3" below where the mast pivioted to get the draft control to work, The other setting was the pins straight in line with the piviot so did not do anything either with or without the top link in place. But the ford is top link sencing. If your tractor is top link sencing you can still use the plow without the top link hooked up.
