Well for what it's worth, I run Champion W89D in my 1938 A. I would run 3077's if I could find them. I did run 3076's which ran fine once it started. The problem that I see is that you need a plug that actually reaches into the combustion chamber for a easy start. The W89D electrode fits to the end of the cylinder threads as I assume Deere intended. When I switched to the W89D the tractor has never started easier. It now starts on the second or third turn as before with the 3076's I would sometimes run out of my own steam trying to start it. I am sure somebodies hair is standing up on their arms reading this as they will tell me its too hot of a plug, blah, blah, blah. I don't work my tractor so I doubt I will ever burn a hole in the cast iron pistons. Again, I would run 3077's if I could find them. My 2 cents worth.
