I am on my third Dakota now, First got totaled when car ran a stop sign. The Dakota is classified as a mid size truck while the Chevy was a smaller truck. I had a S10 that was forerunner of what you were looking at. I like the size of the dakotas. First was a 2000 extended cab with 4.7 2 wheel, automatic. When it got wrecked all I could find was a 01 with 6 and regular cab, towing capacity was supposed to be close to the 4.7 8 cylinder, way less and I needed the towing capacity so I got a 03 quad cab 4 wheel 4.7 automatic to handle all my needs after the 06 Caravan got totalled, I needed interior room.
