It is probably a civilian Jeep-CJ-2A- most likely. If so, it would not be a 1942. Civilian Jeeps had tailgates(stamped Willys), 7 inch headlights with trim rings, 6 volt electrical system and other differences. They made quite a few accessories for them, such as pto, 3 point hitch, winches etc. Hard to say on value, but no rust is a big plus.
My cousin has a 1948 CJ-2A the my uncle bought nearly new. My uncle and dad used it farming and we all learned to drive in it. Also have a 1946 that we got from my mom's dad when I was about 7 or 8.
I sold a running CJ-3B 20 years ago for $1,700. It for sure would bring more now.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
