I would have done the same as you. Except... When someone calls and is interested I always tell them straight up that this is craigslist. That means the first man here with the cash gets the goods. If you are out of town for a few days call me when you get home. Maybe it will still be available. I will hold things of course. If a guy calls at 8 am and says he's 100 miles away and can be there at 10. But to hold something for a couple of days doesn't work with me unless I get a deposit.
