Mark I have been installing clutches for over fifty years now. I never had one that I did not set the clutch finger height on. The only ones that you did not where the pickup ones that did not have any adjustment. I have installed JD, MF, AC, IH, Ford, and Case clutches an set the finger height on all of them. Heck on many of them you can use a tri-square and measure your height off the flywheel face. I have the setting gauges for most JD and IH tractors. Most of them I made using sheet steel and some time. Finding the dimension is not hard most service manuals give you the needed information.
