Folks who hate a certain make of tractor just because it isn't the color they grew up with are closing the door to opportunity. I have a neighbor who will never own Deere equipment. He has two Deere dealers within 15 miles but he instead owns off breed machinery serviced by one dealer 30 miles away, another dealer 35 miles away and a third dealer 65 miles away. But at least he doesn't own one of those green things. Come to think of it, he doesn't own any red equipment either. Too expensive to buy, he claims.
Another thing that bugs me is those who brag up their color of tractor, pitting it against the other color. Who designed and built that tractor? Engineers designed that tractor, all the farmer did was sign his name and drive the tractor home. Then he soups up the tractor. Now he can brag about how big a plow it can pull, but again, he bolted on parts designed by someone else. All he did was waste, er, spend the money to buy the parts. I admittedly fell into that trap in my younger days.
