I cannot believe it would take a tremendous amount of "remanufacturing" and "fabricating" to make this work. As I recall from our own John Deere tractors, one key difference is there is a wrap around frame for the John Deere tractors, in which the front and rear attachment brackets are bolted to. I think if you remove that wrap around frame, those two brackets may even bolt right up and on to the tractor. We have a 3020 John Deere with a WL-40 loader on my dad's farm and a 4230 with a WL-44 loader on that farm, too. I have an IH 86 Hydro with a WL-42 loader at my farm. I know the two John Deere tractor have the wrap around frame that is bolted to the side rails and also up front on both of these tractors, and the front and rear attachment brackets are both bolted to that frame. Some years ago, I was involved in the installation of a WL-40 loader on a 706 Farmall, and later a WL-40 loader on a 460 Farmall. In both of these cases, I am thinking back to 25 plus years ago, but I do distinctly remember neither of these tractor had the inside wrap around framework. I tend to also think that both of these attachment brackets are pre-drilled for IH tractors. It might just be you need some specific bolts for attaching to the tractor. You can e-mail me directly and I may be able to provide pictures of my 86 Hydro to you to help out. That 86 Hydro is essentially a newer version of your 656 Hydro. I think my WL-40 is essentially a newer version of the WL-40 loader, too.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
