I bought a CHEAP 4500 watt generator off of Amazon a couple years back. Haven't lost power during that time, and spent a good portion of that time going back and forth to Arkansas until Mom passed. I'll soon be firing (hopefully!) the thing up for the first time soon as my make-shift shop is a 24' van box - dry, secure and up off the ground. Have been wanting to use the generator, so will use that rather than stretch out 200' of extension cords! At least the van box is still on the truck for now, so can also move it closer to the power pole when needed.
But your post reminds me - what's the latest news on all that flooding? Haven't heard much said about it. ...Maybe I should ask in a separate post.
