Finally got time when it was dry enough to work on cleaning up the horse lot. Some of you may remember me telling of my Percheron Draft horses. One thing they are very good at is leaving some serious manure piles around. I should have had a pair of them pulling the spreader but I was in too big of a hurry with too little time. Still made 12 trips loaded, but sure made things look better.
Next day was new shoes on the brood. The shoes earn their money when they put new shoes on. Two men worked for 6-1/2 hours heating, shaping, trimming and nailing the shoes on. The two big guys take #8's for shoes, and the young mare in in 6's. She is just 3 years old and will grow a little more. She is the one on the right, and the one hooked to the old/restored stud cart. The farrier wanted to try her out so we harnessed her up after she was done.
