I remember using testor's. I did something to make sure that I got just enough on. Maybe I used a toothpick. I built all kinds, airplanes, ships, a tank, a bunch of cars. I even built a model of old Ironsides from scratch out of wood. I also have a vague recollection of an airplane from wood. That may have been from before plastic. My younger brother got in BIIIG trouble once for smashing a plastic ship model on purpose. I always took a lot of time with them, my younger brother would put together three while I did one. Later on I got into gas engine wood models and Tow line gliders. I saved a bunch when we were cleaning out my mother's house so that I can fix them up.
