They are great small tractors. Very nimble and good hp for their size. Low stature so Easy on, easy off. Good parts availability both new and used. The straight up 4 speeds are a little fast for some things but the twin stick 6 or 8 speeds have plenty of gears, both high and low ends. Never, Ever trust the hour meter on a 65-75 Ford. About 95% of them don't work after a couple thousand hours. The diesels were prone to having cavitation problems so the water jacket perforates into the cylinder walls. Requires a bore and $leeve to fix. Gassers did not have that problem. I've owned half a dozen of them - parted some out, fixed and sold others. Have one here that I've owned for a dozen years that they will have to pry from my cold, dead fingers. Price you mention is low for one with decent tires and runs good. Power steering, differential lock and live pto were options. So hope you get those.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
