You can easily hear the lift pump running.... but that doesn't mean it's lifting anything. Mine would whiz away until the battery went dead and never lift a damn thing. If you have an aftermarket type of lift pump you could plumb that in for a test and see if you get fuel up. I just cut the line between the separator bowl and filter head, hooked the lift pump in... and I got fuel up right away. So I knew that was my problem...
