So I did install a 1/2 inch hose on it but here is what happened and what I also found. The suction hose at the pump is 1 inch but the power side of the pump is only 1/2 inch going into 1/2 inch hard line so going with a 1/2 inch hose where there once was a 3/4 inch hose does not matter since it is feed by 1/2 inch hoses and hard lines. As for why the 3/4 inch line was o nit who knows since this back hoe was made to fit by some one other then a factory mounting. This is by the way on a 1950 Ford 8N so even at best it is a slow working machine but it does the job. In the past month I have moved so much dig and rock I could cover the whole machine so deep it would not be touched by a 6 foot fence post driven into the pile
