While the Little Tallahatchie River crosses I55 that is not the bridge in the song. That section of I55 was not even built when the song came out in the late 60's. In fact that part of Mississippi is not the delta area.
South west of where you are thinking of and about 30 miles east of I55 is a small town (couple hundred people) of Money Miss there was a old wooden bridge that crossed the river. This is the bridge in the song. The bridge did not last but a few years after the song came out as it was set afire by vandals and collapsed in the early 70's. The bridge was later rebuilt with a concrete bridge.
